Introduced for Breitlings centennial in 1984, at a time when quartz movements dominated, it marked a bold return to mechanically driven watches. It was born from a collaboration with the beloved Italian aerobatic squadron, the Frecce Tricolori. When the team asked for an analog timepiece that could withstand the intensity of a jet cockpit and still look stylish enough to be worn to formal events Breitling developed the Chronograph Frecce Tricolori. It was the blueprint for the Chronomat to follow one year later. The Chronomat B31 40 is powered by Breitlings COSC certified manufacture caliber B31, unveiled in 2025. With a weekend surviving 78hour power reserve and slim dimensions, its a time and date timepiece for every occasion. Available in a range of colorful dials, the Chronomat has a fully integrated signature Rouleaux bracelet with on the fly adjustable links on both sides of the clasp.
