Description
ContentBreitling’s most versatile Navitimer—for the journey. The Navitimer is one of the most recognizable watches ever made. It’s on collectors’ lists of the greatest watches of all time. What began in 1952 as a tool for pilots has gone on to mean something profound to every single person who has had this timepiece along on their personal journey. The Navitimer Automatic and Automatic GMT 41 distill the iconic look, omitting the chronograph yet preserving a balanced dial composition. The central placement of the 24-hour scale on the GMT and the Automatic’s clean face, ensure the intricate slide rule stands out while streamlining the overall aesthetics. Further refining the collection, the notched bezel was incorporated for a contemporary touch, and alternating polished and brushed finishes add a dynamic play of light. Straps in alligator leather and bracelets with a seamless butterfly clasp offer comfort and convenience. The palette includes colorful dials, encased in a choice of stainless steel or 18 k red gold. This reinvention of the Navitimer, marrying the classic with the contemporary, is tailored for enthusiasts and the style-conscious alike, promising Breitling’s commitment to heritage and innovation in each timepiece.Breitling’s most versatile Navitimer—for the journey. Previously, chronographs were only used as professional instruments, but Breitling recognised their potential as elegant accessories. Top Time quickly became popular among automobile and motorcycle enthusiasts in the 1960s. The watch remained in production until the late 1970s, surviving a tough era when quartz watches gained popularity. After many years, Top Time was revived in 2020 under the direction of new CEO Georges Kern, aiming to restore its original charm and historical significance.Breitling’s icon—for the journey. The Navitimer is one of the most recognizable watches ever made. It’s on collectors’ lists of the greatest watches of all time. What began in 1952 as a tool for pilots has gone on to mean something profound to every single person who has had this timepiece along on their personal journey. Our icon now comes in 36 and 32 mm sizes for women and men who love the look and feel of a smaller diameter watch. While the 36-mm Navitimer features the beaded bezel and iconic circular slide rule that gives the Navitimer its unmistakable appearance, the dazzling 32 mm variation forgoes the slide rule in favor of a simplified dial design suited to its slim diameter. But these showstoppers have so much more to offer than just their trim new sizes. Pops of pastel, mother of pearl, and traceable precious materials combine with subtle refinements to give the timepieces a jewelry-like appeal—adding a versatile elegance to the legendary navigational watch that’s ready for wherever the journey takes you.The 1960s was a decade of experimentation, fun, freedom and energy. Whether cruising on a motorcycle or revving up a sportscar, living life at full speed was the order of the day. Willy Breitling felt this change of pace and set out to design an unconventional chronograph that would capture the verve of era. He called it the Top Time. That spirited tradition continues today with Breitling partnering with some of the coolest names in wheels to create its Top Time designs. A collaboration with British heritage motorcycle brand Triumph, this watch’s highlight is its ice-blue dial. The distinctive shade was precisely color matched to a Triumph Thunderbird 6T from 1951, and a rare, blue-dialed Breitling Top Time Ref. 815 from the 1970s. Collectors are sure to pick up on a few other throwbacks to vintage Breitling that include a retro logo, mushroom chronograph pushers and a “Zorro” dial design. The bowtie motif introduced on Top Time in the 1960s (and nicknamed for the wily swashbuckler’s mask) has been subtly integrated using a metal brushing technique that creates a radiant play of light and texture. The design features a Triumph emblem at 6 o’clock, a speed-measuring tachymeter scale and contrasting “squircle” (not quite square, not quite round) subdials that give the feel of a vintage dashboard gauge. It also comes with a brag-worthy engine under the hood: the exceptional Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01.Made to move between the waves and the waterfront. The Superocean Heritage is no ordinary sea watch—it never was. When Breitling first launched it in 1957, it took a different tack from other dive watches of the era. The Ref. 1004 (a sleek time-only piece) and Ref. 807 (the world’s first dedicated dive chronograph) weren’t just about exploring the underwater world—they were about looking good doing it. The spear-and-arrow hands, ceramic rotating bezel, and naturally sleek proportions made it a favorite of stylish adventurers who lived for the sea and the scene. Today, that philosophy is still at the core of the Superocean Heritage. It’s got the soul of the 1950s, but designed for today. The latest Superocean Heritage builds on everything that made the original distinctive—and sharpens it. The chronograph is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, Breitling’s industry-leading timekeeping movement. A ceramic-inlayed bezel adds exceptional scratch resistance, while integrated mesh-metal or mesh-rubber bracelets fit snugly against the case, secured with folding clasps for a clean, watertight finish. Tone-on-tone subdials, a discreet date window at six o’clock, and the original signature hands—arrow for hours, spear for minutes—ensure legibility and balance, above or below the surface.
